Divine Intervention

di-vine in-ter-ven-tion - n., "An extraordinary event manifested by God intervening in human affairs."

This being Sunday, and supposedly a day of rest, I thought it quite fitting to create this little religious piece. My intent today was to only play with rosary chaining techniques. This bracelet is my end result.

Must have been divine intervention! All kidding aside... Sometimes I think what the heck am I doing? How am I going to create something pleasing? Who in the world would wear something like this anyway? And then I hear that voice that tells me, "Just go for it. Take a chance. You can do this. It will work."

At first it is only a whisper, and I just frown, sigh, and shake my head. Then it becomes louder, encouraging me on. Luckily, the voice is persistent. Before I know it... I am done!

In my case, my "human affairs", was my self-doubt. I think we all need to listen more often to that encouraging voice. Just take that chance and go for it!

Sad but Glad

Seeing old friends is always a good thing. Today was our friend Tom's umphmph birthday and the whole gang was there. Isn't it great that you can always pick up where you left off with true friends.

I recently completed this piece and fell in love with it. My daughter asked, "Mom, how can you ever part with something so beautiful?" WOW! I almost forgot that I was making pieces for others to enjoy. I wore it to my friend's umphmph birthday, thinking that it would return to its special drawer in my jewelry box.

My girlfriend, who shares my passion for vintage treasures with a story, immediately fell in love with it and wanted it for her own.

If this was the purpose of my piece, how could I say no to it going to a home where it would be so loved? Thank you Claudia, for making letting go so easy.

YIPEE!!

The IT Department (my talented daughter, Elyse and her lazy assistant) have finished my blog! In just 2 hours she was able to complete what has been taking me months to figure out.

I hope you will continue to stop by to see what's up and check out my latest jewelry creations. Be sure to leave a comment so I know you were here.

Well, I guess this means no more excuses and I will have to kick it into high gear so I have something to share.
