Waterfalls

It was so beautiful today walking my dog along the Strand at the beach. The weather was summer balmy, the water azure blue and the dolphins playful in the surf.

Today I feel truly blessed and it is such an uplifting feeling. You know what? Uplifted is addictive! The more I think about my blessings the more happy and at peace I become.

So if thinking happy thoughts creates more happy thoughts the same must be true for distressing thoughts. So today's post is dedicated to the Waterfall Effect*.

My Waterfall Effect started like this today...

Hmmm, the balmy weather reminds me of the carefree summer days, when I was a kid, swimming in my friend's pool... The ocean looks so beautiful, I am so fortunate to live here... How lucky I am to have such a cool dog to walk with me every day... What a blessing that a 5 mile walk is no biggie... The friends who are nudging me along and strongly encouraging my jewelry are a true gift...

So, come look at the waterfall with me today or tomorrow or the next day. I will be going there everyday because it is an addictive place to go.

NOTE TO SELF - Reread this post every day.

*Waterfall Effect - Sort of like the Snowball Effect only prettier because it is truly awesome and there is usually a beautiful rainbow.

Over here!

You-whooo. I am back from my nine month stint into the murky depths of.... are you ready... small children should leave the room... that horrible, ugly place called... Corporate America. Oh, it gets worse... It was a government job.

But now, I am happy to report, I am back where I belong. In the land of jewelrying, quilting, and harassing enjoying my children and husband. My family dog is so happy that I am around full time!

During my long absence, I must tell you that there is ONE Art I became very proficient at. The Art of Procrastination. Well, I guess I can tell you about that later.

Trust the Stars

Today my horoscope read, "You can't do everything you want to do, but this is good news. If forces you to prioritize and pick the things that make your heart beat faster."

While I read mine just for fun... This one made me actually pause and think. Of late, there has been little time for my creative side to come out and play. So, today, I will heed the stars. My heart will beat faster as I play with the booty from my siege at yesterday's Gem Faire.

On, second thought, maybe even tomorrow, too.

Divine Intervention

di-vine in-ter-ven-tion - n., "An extraordinary event manifested by God intervening in human affairs."

This being Sunday, and supposedly a day of rest, I thought it quite fitting to create this little religious piece. My intent today was to only play with rosary chaining techniques. This bracelet is my end result.

Must have been divine intervention! All kidding aside... Sometimes I think what the heck am I doing? How am I going to create something pleasing? Who in the world would wear something like this anyway? And then I hear that voice that tells me, "Just go for it. Take a chance. You can do this. It will work."

At first it is only a whisper, and I just frown, sigh, and shake my head. Then it becomes louder, encouraging me on. Luckily, the voice is persistent. Before I know it... I am done!

In my case, my "human affairs", was my self-doubt. I think we all need to listen more often to that encouraging voice. Just take that chance and go for it!

Sad but Glad

Seeing old friends is always a good thing. Today was our friend Tom's umphmph birthday and the whole gang was there. Isn't it great that you can always pick up where you left off with true friends.

I recently completed this piece and fell in love with it. My daughter asked, "Mom, how can you ever part with something so beautiful?" WOW! I almost forgot that I was making pieces for others to enjoy. I wore it to my friend's umphmph birthday, thinking that it would return to its special drawer in my jewelry box.

My girlfriend, who shares my passion for vintage treasures with a story, immediately fell in love with it and wanted it for her own.

If this was the purpose of my piece, how could I say no to it going to a home where it would be so loved? Thank you Claudia, for making letting go so easy.

YIPEE!!

The IT Department (my talented daughter, Elyse and her lazy assistant) have finished my blog! In just 2 hours she was able to complete what has been taking me months to figure out.

I hope you will continue to stop by to see what's up and check out my latest jewelry creations. Be sure to leave a comment so I know you were here.

Well, I guess this means no more excuses and I will have to kick it into high gear so I have something to share.
