Sad but Glad

Seeing old friends is always a good thing. Today was our friend Tom's umphmph birthday and the whole gang was there. Isn't it great that you can always pick up where you left off with true friends.

I recently completed this piece and fell in love with it. My daughter asked, "Mom, how can you ever part with something so beautiful?" WOW! I almost forgot that I was making pieces for others to enjoy. I wore it to my friend's umphmph birthday, thinking that it would return to its special drawer in my jewelry box.

My girlfriend, who shares my passion for vintage treasures with a story, immediately fell in love with it and wanted it for her own.

If this was the purpose of my piece, how could I say no to it going to a home where it would be so loved? Thank you Claudia, for making letting go so easy.

XOXO Kim

  1. Kim - you did such a beautiful job on this necklaces. I'm only sad that I won't get to see it in person. I'm sure your friend will cherish it.

  2. Wow Kim! What a confirmation of your work! Can't get any better than that right? Now you have to think twice before you wear a new piece out...
